The Level 6 Soldier RIG is only available to players who have beaten the game, and start a new game plus. In Dead Space lore, such and advanced RIG is only available to high ranking engineers, and only if said engineers have completed multiple repairs in hazardous environments, and passed a training program. The Level 5 Advanced Engineer RIG is the fifth and final RIC that the player has access to. This RIG is much bulkier in appearance due to its extra armor, although this extra bulk has no effect on movement speed. The RIG is given to Class Miners, who on asteroids. The Level 4 Intermediate Miner RIG is the fourth RIG that player has access to. In the Dead Space universe, this suit is issued to Class 4 Engineers. The suit has a bulkier appearance due to the amount of armor attached to the RIG. The Level 3 Intermediate Engineer RIG is the third RIG that the player has access to, and is perhaps the best known of the RIGs since it was used in all of the Dead Space promotional material. The Miner RIG has a certain amount of built in armor since a miner might encounter hostile conditions while working. ![]() The Level 2 Standard Miner RIG is the upgrade version of the first RIG in the game. In the Dead Space universe, this RIG is a simple suit worn by personnel who may be required to work in hazardous areas, such as an engineer. The Level 1 Standard Engineer RIG is the player's starting RIG. In addition to the standard life bar heath indicator found all members of the Ishimura and Aegis 7 colonists, there are several types of RIGs specifically designed for various tasks. RIGs also provide armor for the user, if the RIG model has a built in exoskeleton. The RIG also has built in communications capabilities, which include a holographic projector for audio visual communications as well as video playback, a regular audio communication system, and a text display projection. From a game play perspective, the purpose of a RIG is provide a no-HUD experience for the player, showing all of the vital information on the suit itself, such as health, stasis energy, and oxygen levels.
